No More Wasting Time

I found out today that someone very close to me is very ill. As we gathered around this person’s bedside, my brother made a very profound statement, “No matter what has happened, the past is the past. Today, we move on from here and enjoy each moment we have with each other.”

As I prayed this evening, I asked God to help me focus on the positive influence this person has been in my life. I’ve focused too much on the negative, it’s time to give the positive aspects a turn. I’ve wasted so much time in my life being angry, but today, the only heartbreak I feel is not one of past hurts, but a heartbreak for a future that is shortening with each passing moment.

I will move on from here and enjoy each moment I have with this person. I am thankful for the precious moments we’ve shared in our lives. And I intend to share a few more.
